Welcome
In October 2024, Bishop John Dolan, the fifth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, announced his historic seven-year Pastoral Plan on evangelization.
Inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Diocese of Phoenix, the plan begins in January 2025 and leads up to December 2031- the 500th anniversary of Our Lady of Guadalupe appearing to Saint Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill in modern day Mexico City.
This webpage is a one-stop-shop for all information regarding Bishop Dolan’s Pastoral Plan – you will find access to the pastoral plan and letters, yearly themes, information on indulgences and much more. Welcome!
Pastoral Plan
Every year, Bishop Dolan will share a pastoral letter from his heart, delving into the pastoral plan yearly theme and sharing practical ideas on evangelization for discernment and implementation on a personal, parish and diocesan level.
“I am delighted to journey with you through these seven years. As we go forward, let us find great hope in the words Our Lady spoke to Juan Diego, the same words she speaks to each one of us: Am I not here, I who am your Mother? … Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need something more? Let nothing else worry you or disturb you.” – Bishop Dolan
Annual Themes
Each year of the Pastoral Plan has a bold and engaging theme, most of which are based on the five apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s National Pastoral Plan, Missionary Disciples Going Forth with Joy.
